Dear Sir,
Re:
Representation of Joint Forum of General Insurance Pensioners submitted
to
GIPSA on
05.10.2020
The referred representation (copy attached- L1)
was forwarded to Mr. Girish Radhakrishnan, Chairman, GIPSA and to Mr. Ravi Rai,
Chief Executive requesting them to start negotiations to enhance Family Pension
and to initiate pension updation intune with CCS(Pension) Rules, 1972, in
General Insurance Sector.
We are extremely pained to
note that both Chairman and Chief Executive showed scant respect and ignored
the sentiments of senior citizens. They have demeaned their High Office by mere
arrogance, incompetence and inefficiency. If GIPSA Authorities feel themselves
not authorized to address complaints of
grieved elders, they could have referred the matter to DFS or to the Ministry
with proper recommendation and inform us the position, instead of leaving us in
the lurch.
Further, our reminder dt.17.11.2020
(letter attached-L2) was also shelved without intimation. Inspite of clear
directive from Secretary,DFS(Letter attachéd –L3) to take appropriate action on
the grievance under intimation to the complainant, the Governing Body
flouted the Order.
Since inception of General
Insurance Pension Scheme in 1995, there was no attempt from GIPSA to enhance
Family Pension or update pension in the last 25 years.Repeated representations
from various Pensioners’ Organizations
for reforms fell into the deaf ears of Authorities.
Under the above circumstances,
we request you to intervene demanding
proper explanation for the lethargy of GIPSA to have a dialogue with
pensioners and to acknowledge a letter which is most essential to a civil
society. We also request your Good Offices to direct GIPSA to invite our Office
Bearers for productive discussions.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
